Short Story - Innocent Woman

Came the boy,
Seeking fun and comfort at home.
Mom was cooking his favorite meal,
Both were prepared to enjoy the sunset.

Ringing at the door,
The boy dropped his toys,
His face became white,
He quickly hid himself,
Like prey from predator

Entered a tall beast,
His face was brown,
His teeth was like sharp stone,
His eyes were like a red hot metal,
altogether resembling prehistoric creature.

He spoke out of rage,
Which the boy couldn’t understand.
The communication heated up,
He slapped the mom.

Beating his mom
Was the beast’s hobby.
The boy witnesses it daily.

He never understood,
Why mom was beaten!
In school he gets punishment,
When he does wrong!
But the innocent mom
Never does anything wrong!

The boy was crying,
Over the entire scene,
Feeling helpless.

Session was over, finally!!
Boy came out,
And he wiped her tears,
Mom gave a hug
And kissed the boy,
She went to prepare the dinner

Boy was perplexed,
Why she was bearing?
Beating a woman was right?
Does his loving mother deserve it?
Hoping to get an answer from someone, someday!
